linking video streams

How do I link to my streams?

There are several ways to link to streams:

  • Using meta files
  • Embedding video
  • Linking directly

We recommend using meta files as this way the video stream is spawned in a new window and users can view the stream whilst still browsing your site. If you embed video within your web page users cannot scroll up and down without losing the video. Linking directly does not always work with all browsers.

Linking with meta files is fairly easy, but it is also easy to make a tiny mistake that will result in the stream not playing. We have automated the process of writing meta files, so by using the following simple instructions all you have to do is cut and paste the code created.

1) Log on to the control panel with your username and password:

2) Select the file manager:

3) Click on the file that you want to play from your web page:

4) Cut and paste the line from the text box, and use it in your web page:

5) When users click on this link in your website, the required player: Windows / Real / QuickTime will open up automatically.
